Today is the day we kick off our 3 days of good old fashioned fun! The festival booklet is the best place to find ALL details for this years festival. It is your complete guide to all events, some of which are not yet featured with individual pages on the website. Pick up a copy at local businesses, at our information booth, or download the pdf version here: stantonofd.com/booklet.

Additionally, we’re excited about our special events that will support this year’s “White Pine Legacy” festival theme. From a Lumberjack-themed Pancake Breakfast, Beards & Braids Competition, and Flapjack Eating Contest, to Michigan Chainsaw Artist Dylan Ezell of DC Carvings and our Logging Exhibit, which will feature an authentic steam-powered shingle mill (special thanks to Dave Kemler) and an interactive booth featuring live demos of techniques that would have been used in the early logging days including cross cutting and hammer stamping (thanks to Joe Aiken and the Arboriculture Society of Michigan).
We are also offering Horse-drawn Wagon Rides, Trackless Train Rides, Kids Pony Rides, and a Historic Home Tour to give a nod to the past and a taste of the early pioneer days. And for those who really want to dig deeper into the history, the White Pine District Library is hosting “A Walk Through Stanton History” with exhibits placed throughout their facility showcasing local history during their business hours on Friday and Saturday.
There is something for everyone this year–don’t miss out on the fun!
