Sponsored by Bookwalter Chevrolet
The annual Car Show and Cruise Night has become a main event since its start in 1986 with about 50 cars on display. Since then, this event has continued to grow, attracting hundreds of classic cars, trucks and motorcycles to our city each summer. Stanton Old Fashioned Days is excited to announce that Bookwalter Chevrolet, the local Chevy dealer in Stanton, is returning to sponsor this year’s event.
You won’t want to miss Historic Downtown Stanton come to life on Saturday from 2 to 6:30 P.M. Spectators, both young and old will enjoy walking up and down the street admiring one car after another, picturing their dream car or reminiscing about the past.
Have a vehicle you want to show-off? Registration is from 11:00 to 2:30 P.M. on the corner of Bradford Street and N. M-66 (N. State Street). There is a $20 registration fee. Enter on Pine Street (on the north end of town), turn south onto Court Street and turn west on Bradford (follow the car show registration signs). M-66 then becomes the staging area for the vehicles while waiting to move onto Main Street after the Parade. You may temporarily leave your show car and watch the parade or walk the street to see what is happening around town until the parade is over; when you will move your car onto Main Street. For registrations after 2:00 P.M., enter Main Street from the corner of Court Street and Main St. The registration booth will then be located in front of Chemical Bank.
Upon registration, each vehicle owner can fold out their lawn chairs, sit back, and chat with the many visitors that stroll past to admire their pride and joy, while enjoying the music piped up and down the street.
After the show is over, car show participants are invited to rev it up in a farewell cruise through Downtown Stanton.
