The race is on! We’re so pleased that Central Montcalm Cross Country will be bringing a 5K Run/Walk & Fun Run back to SOFD weekend.
These events will take place at the CM Athletic Complex on Saturday morning (August 9th). Registration begins at 8:00 a.m., with the race to follow at 9:00 a.m. The 5K route will begin and end on the track, but will take you out to the Heartland Trail and back.
The entry fee for runners who will be chip timed is $30; the fee for untimed walkers is just $25. All run/walk participants registered by July 25 will receive a tee shirt.
Awards will be broken down by age and gender, with medals presented after the event. Medals will go to overall male/female runner, masters (40+ overall), and top three finishers in each of the following divisions: 0-15, 16-30, 31-45, 46-60, 61+.
The route will be accessible for strollers and wheelchairs. This event is also pet friendly, but they need to be on a leash.
The Fun Run for kids will begin once the 5K is finished. Their route will be a short 1.3 km/.8 mi loop through the cross country course. Cost is $10 per child.
