2020 FESTIVAL UPDATE

The SOFD Committee has been cautiously planning for this year’s event, as we watch to see what restrictions are expected to be in effect by August. Therefore, we can’t say anything for sure at this time, other than the fact that we haven’t officially cancelled just yet. However, in the event that we do hold this year’s festival, we’re quite certain that we’ll only be able to host events that can be modified to meet safety requirements and follow social distancing regulations, which are likely to still be in place at that point. Additionally, things would also need to be scaled back some, due to limited sponsorship this year. We realize many of our local businesses have already been hit so hard by the effects of this pandemic. The uncertainty makes planning interesting, so stay tuned. We’re still discussing all of this and staying in contact with the health departments and other officials. We are hoping to have more of a plan by the end of June.
