To Our SOFD Community and Supporters:
As you may recall, we had to cancel our 2020 Festival as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic in order to do our part in trying to keep our families, friends and communities safe. And from the bottom of our hearts, we hope you are all safe and well. For those who have suffered, our thoughts remain with each of you during your personal struggles and challenges.
With the progress of the research and development of vaccinations and success of Michiganders following the CDC guidelines and other directives, there has been enough of a decline in COVID cases to allow some restrictions to be loosened and or lifted. As a result, the Stanton Old Fashioned Days Committee began meeting in February to discuss the possibility of holding the 2021 Old Fashioned Days in Stanton.
We are meeting with local health officials, emergency management personnel, elected officials, and other festival authorities to develop plans in anticipation of being able to open our City once again in August. This is a very tedious process that has expanded way beyond our normal planning process, but we are determined to find a solution that will meet health and safety recommendations for the public.
As for now, we are announcing our wholehearted intentions to host the 2021 Stanton Old Fashioned Days Festival!
We are diligently working on fluid plans to hold most of the events and activities that we have traditionally held in the past. During our process, we have realized there will be some events that we will simply not be able to hold because of current health recommendations and will have to cancel.
On behalf of the entire Stanton Old Fashioned Days Committee, thank you all for your patience, understanding, and continued support of the Festival. We hope to see you this coming August!
